Thought i should maybe stick some pics on here from campweek! John was out here so it was totally awesome!! =) This was at lost valley on sunday!

One thing im starting to get excited about is the fact that im going home to stay one week from tomorrow!!! =) =) yesterday i was sad about it and today im excited about it so who knows how i'll feel tomorrow! lol!

My Sister's getting married!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Wow!! i still can't believe it! My sister is getting married to the man of her dreams on October 25!! I can't stand it that im not at home right now helping with plans and stuff, but i will be in 1 month!!! =) It's gonna be sad to leave Hillcrest but i really want a little more time with my best friend before she gets married!!! Im so happy for you guys Sher and Ty!!! I wish only the best for you!!!! I was looking at my sister-in-law to be's xanga and realized that i should maybe update mine too!! (ok so maybe ida isn't exactly gonna be my sister-in-law but i like to pretend that she is! Lol!) =) Ty timed it perfectly though!! I walked in the door just after they got home Thursday night two weeks ago!!! I went home for Shane and Dorc's wedding, which by the way was a totally AWESOME wedding and congratulations and best wishes to them!! So i got there thurs. night and we practiced singing for the wedding on Friday and My Man came friday night and sat. was the wedding and sunday was family time and monday John and i flew to Ohio!! so that was a whirlwind weekend!!! I was in Ohio 1 whole week (which felt more like 1 whole minute) and on Saturday the 16th John's cousin Jen got married to Eph! (i won't even try the last name cuz i don't know how to spell it!!) Congrats and best wishes to jen and eph!!! It was awesome being with John's family again! I hadn't seen them since i was in Ohio on valentine's day!! And well yeah, as im sure you can guess, awesome doesn't even began to describe what it was like to be with John for a whole week plus a little!! =) Monday was not a happy day but it does help that he's coming out here for camp week in 11 days!! I can't wait!!!!!! =) =) Well i was for sure going to post pics this time but once again i forgot batteries for my camera so i can't even get them on this computer! =( =( so maybe next time!! this afternoon went way too fast as usual and now it's time to go back to hillcrest and help serve supper to the residents!!! I can't believe i have about exactly one month left!! i have a feeling that it's going to go faster than i want it too! I'm going to miss everyone like crazy!!! My farewell is September 19 which means i'll be here one more month than the 6 months that i agreed to when i came. It's been a really good experience even though there were times that i wanted to get as far away as possible!! lol! As i said at the beginning of this post though, i really am ready to get home too! Hey Everyone!! I decided to write a short little update and get some pics on here!! =) John came out last weekend !!! It was totally awesome! We hadn't seen each other for a LONG time!! He flew in Friday morning and left around noon on Monday. To say the least, the time flew!

Friday night we were gonna play volleyball but then the other kids went on a picnic so we went out to eat instead.

Saturday morning we left for Branson and spent the whole day there. We watched imax, played mini golf, shopped, and then spend the evening at Branson Landing! =) Totally Awesome!!

Sunday we went to church and ate with the other day-offers then we headed out to lost valley for the afternoon. We got back in time for a song service at Cornerstone! Good times! =) In fact, it was such a good weekend that I don't think i'll write much about it on xanga! LOL!!=)

Monday.... hmmmm.... i don't think i'll comment because if anyone knows what it's like to say goodbye then i think you'll be able to read between the lines.

It's a pretty long drive to the Airport and two of the staff girls were flying in monday night. So in order to save on gas i stayed in the area all afternoon. John left around noon and the girls didn't get in till 10:30 that night so it was a fairly long day! I went shopping and sat at starbucks and all that good stuff so it wasn't bad at all! I was actually kinda glad that i didn't have to head back to Hillcrest right away!

Last week was a week i wouldn't want to repeat any time soon! We were expecting the state inspectors to show up before long and sure enough, on sunday someone had seen them in the area! So Monday morning when i was at the airport my dear fellow hillcresters were saying hello to the beloved ???? inspectors! Usually the dietician is only in the kitchen 1 day but this time she split it up a little. I had to do Supper Tuesday and sure enough she decided to come in around 3! So my stomach was in knots for awhile! Glenda helped a ton and when the lady came back to the kitchen i realized that i didn't really need to be scared of a sweet old lady that had just had knee surgery! She only stayed and watched me puree the stuff for supper then she said she'd come back the next day and watch tray line at lunch! Whew! So in other words i got off pretty easy! Laura sweetly traded with me the next day so that's about all i had to do with state!! But all our efforts were worth it!!! I think State left on Thursday and the Kitchen and the CNAs didn't get a single tag!!! =) We were all quite thrilled!

Glenda (our awesome dietary manager) took the kitchen crew (Laura, Mim, Ash, Emily, and myself) out for pizza last night because we didn't get any tags from state! We had a total blast! After pizza we headed to walmart where we all got "interesting" shoes. We hung out at Glenda's house for awhile when we got back. Then i headed over to the upper cottage which is only occupied by Bethany right now. The E.D.ers (hannah, mandy, joanne and steph) came over too and we sat around in the living room with a bunch of candles and talked and ate parfaits till eventually we were too tired to stay awake. Btw Bethany and i are the only ones off today so that's why we got the other girls to party with us and then today we're just kinda doing our own thing.

So that's my life story from the past week or two! =) And i doubt ill update again for a Long time! Peace Out!

       Hi everyone! I decided to update just for something different! =) Right now i'm sitting at Neighbor's Mill in Harrison Arkansas with my Best Friend Ida!!! For all of you who don't know, i'm working at Hillcrest right now. I've been here for about 5 weeks now and i have about 5 months to go yet. I'm working in the kitchen so it's a real party! Sheri's boyfriend Ty came with his sister Ida so we're both having a good weekend.
       Hmm... I think the last time i updated was right before i went to cbs for 2nd term. That seems like a LONG time ago now! I had a good time there, but it went really fast compared to the 6 weeks that i was there last year! And.... the most important guy wasn't there either so that made it a little less exciting. I had some really good classes though and made a bunch of new friends! =) Sadly i couldn't be on Gospel Team cuz i was on last year, but i took interpersonal relationships class during that class period so that made up for it!
    The best part of all came at the end of the term when John and his cousin Jen's boyfriend Eph came to visit and took Jen and I home with them! They got there in time for the banquet Thurs. night then we left Fri. afternoon. I had decided half-way through the term to go home with them and then get a one-way ticket back to Kansas. And at that point i still hadn't told Hillcrest exactly when i would come.....
    We got to Minerva sometime Sat. morning, after driving straight through! Saturday consisted mostly of catching up on sleep! John's sister Judith and her husband Wendell were there for the weekend so it was a blast hanging out with them!!! Wendell and Judith left Sunday evening but before that, in the afternoon, Wendell, Judith, Linda, John and I played Phase 10 for awhile with the guys sticking up for each other when the women were intent on giving them all the SKIPS.
        The whole weekend was totally awesome! The best one of the many highlights was spending our first Valentine's day together! We went to the youth Valentine's banquet that night and the youth served the parents! It was a lot of Fun! We even dressed up for the ocasion and i'll definitely be posting a pic of that as soon as i get one on this computer! =)
           Friday night i got to watch John play hockey! I was so glad i got to be there for that cuz i had a lot of fun watching him play!! =) I won't talk about Saturday because that's the saddest day of the whole week!!!!
While i was in Ohio i told Hillcrest i could come a week after i got home! That was kinda stupid cuz that week was waaay too short, but i eventually got my stuff thrown together and now i'm here!! And it's totally awesome having Sheri here!! I'm not sure how i'm gonna survive when she leaves in a month! Oh well, there are a whole ton of really sweet girls here so i think i'll be just fine! =) it has been awesome hanging out with my sister though cuz this is about the first time we've been somewhere together besides at home. =)
   Ok folks, this post is getting waaay too long!! lol! i'd better quit before i start writing every detail of my life! Peace and LOVE~~~~ and to anyone who left me a comment and i didn't reply... my deepest apologies!!!

Hi everyone! Since it's over a year since my first post i decided i might as well post again. =) But i'm not in the writing sort of mood so i guess i will make it extremely short and sweet!
    In February it'll be a year since i started dating! In some ways i can't believe it's actually that long cuz time flies when you're having fun! And in other ways i can't imagine what it was like before i met John. =) All i can say is that life is definitely better now!!
    It's also been a year since i went to cbs! That's hard to believe too. I'm planning to go for second term leaving on Friday! I'm excited about going back again but i'm really freaked out about all the stuff i have to do between now and then. There are gonna be a bunch of KS kids second term and also several of my friends from last year! That's gonna be Rockin! Sadly John's not gonna be there but hopefully he'll come vistit! =)
    Ok i realize that this isn't extremely informative but hey it's better than nothing!! =) Peace and Love~

Virginia Beach

Hi everyone! I decided to be annoying and use a font that no one can read. Right now i'm listening to my nephew snoring and this computer is trying to decide whether or not it's going to die. I think that means i'll have to make this an extremely short entry--just like every other xanga post.

My t;hird nephew was born May 1, 2007. His name is Bryan Dean Brenneman. He was born on a tues. and i got to see him the next Mon. So he was still nice and pink. And that happens to be the reason why i'm in VA Beach right now.

On May 2 I flew in to Minerva to visit John and meet his family for the first time. I was pretty nervous to say the least--but everything went well and John has a very nice family! John and I left for Penn Valley on Fri. and it was a total blast meeting all the CBS kids again. We played volleyball after the morning service Sat., then Sun. afternoon everyone headed home. I got a ride with some of the VA Beach kids and i've been here ever since. Our load had 6 girls in it and we had vehicle problems. So, to say the least, we had a very interesting trip home!

And that's about long enough for a xanga post! c-ya later~

Wow! I survived CBS and i actually liked it. Ok, there were definitly times that i wished i was dead--like when i had to try to fill out my beloved honor roll. =) But when all is said and done~ it was awesome!!! I really miss all my friends, but it is good to see the plains of Kansas again. It's also time to catch up on the Kansas Jayhawks!! I've nearly missed the whole basketball season.=( Nywez, this post will be a short one since i'm at my friend's house and i have to be sociable. Maybe next time I'll post pics. Hi! I'm just getting started on this blogging thing, so I'm not very good at it.

Right now I'm in Kenya. I got here Nov. 30 and I'm leaving again on Dec. 25. I lived here seven years ago. My family and I came when I was 8, and returned to KS when I was 12. A lot of things have changed, but it doesn't take very long to get used to it again. One of the best things about being over here is the sun! I get to lay out when people at home are making snowmen and turning up the heaters. It's a great life.

I really doubt I'll post another update for a long time. I'm going to CBS for the first two terms, so that means at least six weeks without internet access. I'm not really sure if I should groan about going to CBS or get excited. I guess it doesn't really make any difference for now. Except that if I look forward to it, I'll probably like it better. It's about 1:10 a.m. and I have work to do "today". I'm the type of person that gets really grouchy if i don't get enough sleep, so see ya later.
